8th grade "The Cask of Amontillado"

Revenge is the theme of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado".  Poe does not divulge what Fortunato has done to Montressor but it is clear that Fortunato is unaware of any ill-will between the two men. Montressor uses deception to lure Fortunato to his death.  In our world today we see how social media can be used as a means of revenge, reflect on this current societal "weapon".  What are your thoughts on the negative uses of social media?  How do you protect yourself and the people you care about?  Please make sure you post your name to your response. If you have already posted please go back and edit your response. You may use your first initial and last name, for example, SRosales. I just need to identify you to give you credit.

8th grade "The Tale-Tell Heart"

In Edgar Allen Poe's, "The Tale-Tell Heart", the narrator is tormented by the "evil-eye" of the man he cares for and he is so tormented he kills him.  The murder is very cruel and very thought out.  The irony is that even in death the old man torments the narrator until he finally confesses. We all face things that annoy us or things that push our buttons but we do not go so far as murder (we are good people) but what do we do when people make us angry?  How do we handle difficult confrontations or even the feelings we have after dealing with difficult encounters with friends, teachers, and even parents? Please respond in the comments. Please make sure you post your name to your response. I need to be able to identify you in order to give you credit. If you have already posted anonymously please go back and edit your comment.
